Four Structural Features of Rotary Kiln

Based on the structure and role of the major part of rotary kiln, the experts have summarized the following characteristics:
1, the rotary kiln regards the thin-walled cylinder as the main body of the machine. From the perspective of function, the cylinder is the core part of the rotary kiln, clinker calcining process is conducted entirely in the cylinder body; from the structural point of view, the cylinder is the torso and the other parts make service for the cylinder and the size of the various parts will be determined according to the cylinder specifications; from the point of view of the appearance, the cylinder is the largest and heaviest component. Therefore, the cylinder is the most critical component of the rotary kiln.
2, the length of the kiln is typically 60-100m and the kiln length of the large-scale rotary kiln can reach 230m. The quality of the single main part can be up to ten tons, which, however, bring about a series of problems for the design, manufacture, transportation, installation and maintenance.
3, the supporting device is often set in the range of 3-7 files, which belongs to the statically indeterminate structure. It brings the difficulty for the installation, correction and adjustment of the cylinder. After the operation of the cylinder for a long term, the wear of the supporting parts of each file is uneven and the foundation settlement is also inconsistent, causing the destruction of the straightness of the cylinder, which is detrimental to the safe operation of the kiln for a long term.
4, the rotary kiln is a thermal device and the firing zone air temperature can be up to 1400 ℃ -1600 ℃ and the cylinder surface temperature of the cyclone precalciner kiln is 200 °C to 400 ° C. Therefore, there is the need to reduce or eliminate the temperature stress in the mechanical structure.
